About the BiHealth Summit:
The Bisexual Health Summit is a grassroots, community-oriented meeting designed for community health workers, activists, and other interested community members. The purpose is to come together and share knowledge about health issues affecting bisexuals and men and women who have multi-gendered sexuality, and to build health advocacy skills among bisexual people and our allies.
As 2009 marks the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Chicago is especially proud to host this year’s LGBTI Health Summit. At present, the passage of Proposition 8 in California has put LGBTI concerns at the forefront of our national community. LGBTI health care is its own grassroots movement, striving to incorporate the whole person – mentally, physically, and spiritually – rather than being disease-based.
Join fellow advocates, professionals, activists, and concerned people from across the US and beyond for an update on the health of bisexuals and people with multi-gendered sexuality.
-Knowledge sharing
